It must be noted that Shodan (1st Dan) is not always achieved in this time frame and can only be achieved with dedication and hard work. The recommended grades here are possible but not mandatory.
White Belt. 10th Kyu.
Novice/Beginner.
Red Belt. 8th Kyu.
after 6 months training.
Yellow Belt. 9th Kyu.
after 3 months training.
Green Belt. 7th Kyu.
after 9 months training.
Blue Belt. 6th Kyu.
after 1 year training.
Purple Belt. 5th Kyu.
after 15 months training.
Brown Belt. 4th Kyu.
18 months training.
Brown Belt. 3rd Kyu.
2 years training.
